  1. Wow, a place so small it doesn’t even register on google maps. I had to put in the zip code to find it. I grew up in the Birmingham area and have seen a lot of the central and northern part of Alabama. I never got into the southern part of the state a whole lot (except to pass through on way to the beach) but have always imagined those towns that were only names on the interstate exit to me. Excellent photograph that really says a lot in the details.

    • I grew up in a ‘bigger’ small town near Jefferson and still regularly travel there to see family. I enjoy life in Florida, but the space and simplicity of that life still has its attractions. Alabama is one of the South’s hidden gems. It has beaches, coastal plains, interior rolling hills and Appalachain Highlands with diverse, historic and modern cultural influences. I love going home and sharing photos of my South with y’all.
