  1. I used a monopod at one time but the threads on my Powershot S3is were stripped out by a friend I let use my camera. I miss the versatility and flexibility of the monopod. They allow you to get real close on macro shots because they are not as cumbersome as a tripod but shot zoom shots you cannot do accurately with a hand shot.
    I cannot wait for more shots with your T4i!
