  1. That is the reverse of my photographic equipment “growth”. The last 50’ish years have seen me go from tiny instamatic type cameras, through a full range of SLRs, to more digital cameras then I can count, (one was a Canon G9) and finally to a Canon S100. My son has a T4i, and I like everything about it, but it is just too big to stick in your pocket 🙂 The S100 is the size of a deck of cards, so it rarely gets left behind. Great blog by the way, I watch it faithfully. Kat

    • Yeah, the right camera for the job is the one you have with you when the picture needs takin’. I’ve been using the G11 since it came out and love everything about it..its only limitations are the barrel distortion at extreme wide angle, it only stops down to f8 and the sensor is still rather small, less than 1/5 the size of a regular postage stamp. I finally gave in to the need for more creative control and a less noisy, higher mp sensor, hoping to take my images to a more finely resolved final result. That still doesnt keep me from keeping the little 110 in my pocket, either. Though, if I only had 1 camera to tote around all the time, it would probably be the S100 you have. I’m glad you enjoy my humbled view of the world. When are we going to see some pics on your site from the motorcycle trip north?
