Rural Church in Corn Field

Another one of my favorite subjects, a rural southern church building.  This one is in the middle of a corn field just south of Waterproof, Louisiana off Hwy 65 on LA566.

My favorite characteristic of these churches is the spray painted stained glass.  The window mounted air conditioner theft deterrent adds an extra dimension to this one.

  1. For some reason I can feel the humidity in this photography. I think it’s the color of the light, which reminds me a bit of the bleached out look of Southern California. Nice!

    • Always humid in Louisiana! Unfortunately when traveling we can’t always wait for gentle light…midday in Louisiana is as harsh as it gets. Thanks for the look.
