Cathedral at Cologne

The High Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Mary as seen exiting the main train terminal in Cologne (the Koln Hauptbahnhof), Germany.

It’s most definitely in the heart of the city!

I was only able to get one shot off inside before being threatened with exorcism for having a camera on a monopod inside the church, but it was beautiful!  It was started in the 13th century and finished in the 19th.  It is the largest gothic church in northern Europe and Germany’s most visited landmark.

  1. I have visited Germany multiple times in the course of business and marvel at how well they had reconstructed the old structures that were ravaged by bombing.

    Excellent photos, Eric
